Product Review | Mehr MAC Lipstick

Ciao At the beginning of last year I briefly mentioned my desire to incorporate a lot more beauty related posts into my blog. Sadly, this didn't quite go to plan so I'm back to square one with the hope of giving it a go this year. Wish me luck :P

Today I will be sharing one of my favourite MAC lipsticks, EVER. Now, I'm sure the majority of you would nod your head and agree with me in saying that MAC is just one of those brands you cannot help but purchase. Over the past two years I've accumulated quite a bit of a collection which I'm always looking to add to. Mind you, this isn't very hard to do so when half of the people I follow on social media are forever uploading their recent make-up purchases, beauty favourites or #FOTD (face of the day) posts. Ha! Now you can see why my to-buy list just keeps on getting longer and longer.

Mehr is not a shade that I've heard many other ladies rave about. It's described as being a dirty blue pink shade and was originally launched as a limited edition lipstick alongside Double Shot, Tabla and Yash. All four of these shades proved to be a success and were thereby incorporated into the brand's permanent range. According to my good friend Google it was either part of the Middle-Eastern or Mickey Con collection.

I picked it up by chance and I guess you can say it was very much a fell in love at first sight swatch sort of thing. It's in a matte formula which just happens to be one of my favourite types of lipsticks regardless of how flaky and dry my lips can become. Mehr glides onto my lips fairly easily and does not require for me to use a lip liner prior to applying it. The pigmentation is amazing and tends to stay on for a good three-four hours. One of my favourite things is that it's complimentary to all seasons so can be worn all year round, both day and night.

Mehr has been one of my go-to lipsticks for the past year and a bit
  • #BeautyTip: Make sure you prep your lips beforehand by regularly using a lip scrub.
  • #BeautyTip: Apply a slick of lip balm before applying your lipstick to ensure your lips are smooth and moisturised.
Have any of you guys tried Mehr before? If so, what are your thoughts? I'd also love for you guys to suggest any lipsticks that you feel are worth a purchase as I'm a bit of a lipstick junkie :)

Scarlett of Soho

Ciao ♥ Forgive me as I'm not even going to bother asking how ya'll doing. It's Friday (#TGIF) and that's enough to know how the majority of you are feeling. Whoop! The weekend's only a few more hours away :)

Whether you'll spend the next two days donning your favourite party frock or slobbing around in your pjs, this is not a post you want to miss out on reading as I'm going to be introducing you to an exciting brand I've discovered. Towards the end of last year I came across a brand who instantly caught my attention. Curious? Well you should be :P

Scarlett of Soho is an eyewear brand who finds inspiration from 18th century Royal Optician Edward Scarlett. Despite being a massive fan of almost anything that is classic and vintage looking this is not what initially attracted me to the brand. As I mentioned in my previous post I am currently working seven days a week. Tiring? Yes. Annoying? Slightly, but only because I have no time what-so-ever to carry out the simplest of errands. I often have to rely on my lovely mummy for help (i.e. popping to the post office, picking up daily essentials and waiting for deliveries) although I'm sure she'll be happy to know that this is one less of a thing I need her to do for me.

Scarlett of Soho offer a home try on service which enables customers to choose four glasses, complete with prescriptions if needed, and the opportunity to trial them for a week in the comfort of their own home and time.  This service is free of charge, including shipping, and allows you to truly identify the type of lens, frame and style that suits you best. For those who may find it somewhat difficult to choose from the wide selection of glasses, fret your cotton socks not as the folks at Scarlett of Soho have only gone and made our life that tad bit easier. They've recently upped their game and introduced a personalised style finder which uses factors such as your gender, face shape and skin tone to recommend the best specs which are sure to complement your style and fit.

Below are my four choices: Hartnell in Sheer Burgundy, Wieden in Translucent Olive, Churchill in Ice Grey and Novak in Burnished Amber.

My favourite has to be Hartnell in Sheer Burgundy (see below) as I feel it was the one which best suited me :)

Once you have settled upon a pair there are three subscription plans in place to choose from. You can find out about these here. Ah! Now if you're someone who is a little weary about signing up to a subscription, don't be. There are no fixed commitments meaning you can cancel at anytime. Pretty darn convenient, right? If this amazing service is something that has tickled your fancy then please feel free to use my code: SHERENM2015 to receive a 1 month free subscription :)

Outfit of the Day (#OOTD)

Ciao ♥ How are you? Gosh! It feels like it's been ages since I last published a post. I hope you're all doing well and haven't missed me too much :P I have a feeling that over the next few months quite a few of my posts will start off with me apologising for my blogging absence as I'm back to working seven days a week. Yawn! Goody gosh it's tiring but also something I just have to do in order to get my foot into the door for my chosen career. I hope you guys don't mind too much as I'm going to try my hardest to post as often as I possibly can. Damn it! If need be I'll even resort to using matchsticks to keep my eyes open to ensure that you guys are fashionably updated.

I rocked this 70s style outfit a few weeks ago when I attended the launch of Rodial's sculpting bar and make-up range. As it was an event I wanted to make that tad bit of extra effort so opted for this super cute playsuit and my knee-thigh boots. Both are effortlessly stylish and were super easy to work with as they're such simple pieces. I paired it with my fluffy ombre bag which I first came across on a random blog I just happened to click my way onto. I immediately fell in love with it and knew that somehow I just had to have it in my life. So the search began (if you can even call it that considering how quickly it was to locate) and before I knew it this fluffy bag of softness was mine. Ebay you did me well :)

This is a slightly random question but does my outfit remind anyone else of Daphne from Scooby Doo or is that just me? Lol! X

 Playsuit from Bik Bok
Top from H&M
Boots from River Island
Bag from Zara (bought from Ebay)
